Keep your Independence AND Sanity.
So its seems; People often enter relationships to feel complete.
But you're born with all the qualities you need to overcome any challenge - you just need to marshal them.
Losing yourself in your partner's shadow is unhealthy, not just for you but for the relationship.
Indeed, the healthiest relationships are when 2 people walk through life side by side - each having their own independence but choosing to follow roughly the same path.
So, BULLshit to all those who lace their relationships with pink happy marshmallow phrases like, "I can't live without you," or "If you leave me, I think I'll just die lah!"
Save those sweet-talk for Barney the Dinosaur :D
It's easy to go crazy and do all the things your parents don't want you to do though - pigging out on junk food, staying out late on weeknights, binge-drinking with your mates etc. YOU may think you're showing independence, but eventually , your HAVOC ways will catch up with you - you'll have no $$$, dipping energy levels and school/work performance, binge-drinking can cause serious damage to your body!!!
HEED THIS:
PRATA PRATA PRATA omfg finally. r0x0r.
I went out without the slightest hint of make-up today.
UNGLAMNESS!! WALKING ZOMBIE!!! NO EYEBROWS!!!
It's quite a feat, actually...
For those ladies who have been following the "I can't step out without concealer/foundation etc" thought, try what I did!
You'll feel really great, trust me.
(thank you dudes/dudettes, you know who you are :D )
Life's bliss man, when you actually have TIME to do stuff.
I still wish the days were longer though :D
Yes, I've completed a sketch of Kitty Pryde aka Shawdowcat.
No reference, cept for costume... can't be bothered lah, hate copying.
(maybe that explains the somewhat unproportionate figure)
The hair is fug, I can't save it.
Oh well.

Thinking independently doesn't mean rejecting the ideas your parents and teachers taught you. It's about CHALLENGING those ideas, and making objective judgements based on your own (well-supported) reasons.

However, being too fiercely independent can hurt you as much as if you were entirely dependent on others.HEED THIS:
- "Knowing when and where to ask for help/advice IS a sign of strength."
- Don't chicken out lah, just TALK to someone.
- And make sure that someone is a TRUE CLOSE FRIEND
